The Agile Project Manager - Adapting practice to context

Learn the knowledge and skills to transition from traditional project experience into roles leading and supporting Agile and Lean delivery teams.


Agile Project Management is a 1-day course providing a pragmatic approach to kick start your transition to Agile work practices.

The course focuses on a mix of concepts and frameworks and includes practical group exercises. Core topics include:

  • Projects, success rates, and complexity
  • How Scrum works
  • How the planning and control of a project changes with Agile
  • Impacts on roles and responsibilities
  • How to estimate, plan at multiple levels, and report progress
  • Lean and Lean Start-up concepts such as MVP, Validated Learning, Work in progress, and the impact of batch sizes on throughput and predictability

This is an interactive course designed and delivered by practising Project Management and Agile consultants.

With a combination of pre-reading, presentation, group discussion, and group exercises, you will reinforce what you have learnt.

  • Describe how and why Agile methods such as Scrum and Kanban work
  • Implement appropriate planning and reporting mechanisms in your context (Agile, or Hybrid Agile/PRINCE2)

  • Work with your team to improve their performance over time
  • Help your organisation focus on throughput and flow
  • Apply this knowledge to run Agile or Hybrid projects
